Dominican Orphanage - 43 More photos
P.S. November 2000: I was quite busy with the orphanage. The new property (3 acres!) has a brand new wall and we are waiting for the $50,000 needed to start building the new school with 8 classroms! Any help now will be greatly appreciated. Christmas is my deadline. There is also twins girls, 3 years old, for adoption, as their mother is dying of leucemia.
P.S.: April 12th. Received the receipt for the downpayment
of $930 from Dominica who is already cleaning up the property and fencing
it in. That is called TRUST!
I have sent $400 so far, that is 18%. Good, but only 15 days to
go and the other family members want more $ for the property! Please let
me know of your commitment, no matter the size. It all adds up! (kalumet@4dshift.com).
Thanks.
Also 80 more lbs with a computer (Penthium 75) thanks to John and 30lbs of toys & clothes via Philippe in Paris and a niece! A new helper Sophie arrived to support Dominica for 2 months and La Maison de Sagesse is receiving volunteers resume, some of them are engineers. It looks like we will have the school ready for August 30th.... Good job, Denise.

Be HAPPY and GRATEFUL for what you have.
A running toilet was a BIG luxury when I came back!
Should you wish to contact Dominica & Alexis directly --they speak perfect English-- the phone No is (809) 263-2724 and the fax: (809) 335-6302. They have call waiting and an answering machine. I would say afternoon or evening is best to reach Dominica.
